Attack of the 50ft Woman

This illustration is a reimagining of the 1958 sci-fi film Attack of the 50ft Woman, a genre classic that’s always fascinated me for its camp, spectacle, and contradictions.

In my version, the giant woman isn’t frantic or out of control. She’s calm, deliberate, and unmistakably powerful — less monster movie, more quiet reckoning. I wanted to keep the fun, pulpy energy of mid-century sci-fi while shifting the story toward something more thoughtful: what happens when a woman takes up space on her own terms?
